Head Coach Liz Hathaway
Our Mission Statement for our program is to empower our female student-athletes with the tools necessary to make good decisions on and off the field. KPFH is all about building a strong sense of team, pride, sportsmanship, committment, teamwork, discipline and respect. To that end, our coaching staff with provide a safe playing atmosphere and our expectations and communication will always be clear. Our athletes are expected to give 100% effort in the classroom and on the field. As Varsity coach my goal is to instill a love for the game and to foster a life long passion for fitness and sport. Communication and effective management are the keys to our success.
Liz enjoys spending time with her family - husband Jack and kids John (22) and Christina (17). She enjoys cooking, hiking, walking, golfing, working out, and reading (she also can be caught playing a mean game of Words With Friends). Liz was a 3 sport athlete and captain at Westford Academy (field hockey, basketball and softball) and was recruited by & played defense for the University of New Hampshire earning her BA in 1989. While at UNH, the 1986 team came in 2nd in the Nation in Division 1, losing in the Final Four to the University of Iowa in overtime. Liz was also a member of the 1985 USA Junior Olympic field hockey team, North squad. After UNH, Liz earned her Masters in Education from Curry College and taught social studies for several years before devoting her time to her kids and coaching.
Liz is passionate about women in sports and continues to work with youth and high school players in the sports of field hockey & basketball. She has 16 years of high school coaching experience and is looking forward to her 11th season at the helm at KP. In her 10 seasons at KP, the team won the Hockomock League in 2008 with a 15-3-3 overall record making it to the Div. 1 South Sectional Semi's. KP has qualifed for MIAA playoffs 5 times and is coming off a HOCK Top 3 2016 season, coming in 2nd in the Kelley-Rex and advancing to the MIAA Div. 1 South Sectional Semifinal game in 2016.
JV Coach: Erin O'Connell (OC)
Erin was a 4 year goalie at KP from 2004 - 2007 and captain her senior year. Erin earned the Coaches Award for Leadership and Dedication because of her strong committment and work ethic. She graduated from Bridgewater State University with a BS in Psychology and recently graduated from Nursing school to become an RN. O'C is currently a full time Nurse with VNA. Erin enjoys running, golfing, biking, boxing and music - especially Brandi Carlisle Concerts! She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends and her four legged pal RUDY!
Freshman Coach: Kourtnie Wilder
We are excited to announce that Kourtnie will be returning to our staff for the 2017 season. She is a recent graduate from Assumption College with a BS and is a Biology teacher and JV Lacrosse coach at KPHS. Kourtnie played college lax at Assumption at HS field hockey at Framingham HS.
